Goochi Apples—A New Orleans Creation.

Cooks' Note

This is not a particularly low-glycemic dessert, but it is a good one and may be eaten occasionally.

Recipe information

  • Yield

    serves 4

Ingredients

2 medium Golden Delicious apples (unpeeled), cored and cut into chunks
One 8-ounce can unsweetened pineapple chunks (in own juice)
1/2 cup seedless grapes
1 satsuma orange, peeled and sectioned (optional)
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter, cut into pieces

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a 7-by-11-inch baking dish, combine the apples, pineapple with its own juice, grapes, and satsuma, if desired.
